Greetings! My name is Jennifer, I'm from sunny Tucson, Arizona and I specialize in creating original Pet and Wildlife Portraits.

Since I was a kid, I’ve had a strong attraction to art and a love for animals. It’s no wonder that I decided to merge both of those passions. I went to school originally to become an animator and after receiving my degree I found myself pulling away from the digital industry and being drawn to traditional art. I just loved creating with my mind and heart using just pencil and paper.  So I made it a goal to switch mediums and focus entirely on fine art. This was the best decision! It wasn't without its challenges, the old term "starving artists" is real! However, with time, determination, and a love for drawing, I soon found my true passion, drawing animals.

It's so important to me to capture the details of each animal, especially its eyes. I feel like that is where you see the difference between a photograph and a drawing. As an artist, I want to be able to share that animal's journey and essence in a realistic way. This is why specializing in pet portraits is so meaningful to me. When I get to do a portrait of someone's pet, I am aware that I am portraying an image of someone they love and is closer to their hearts than almost anything else.

I know that creating custom portraits for my clients who have lost their fur babies really hit home when I lost my companion, Nayla of 12 years. I know how it feels to have fully loved and mourned a sweet, precious fur baby. She was my everything. So when I'm creating the portrait I try to capture not just the uniqueness and special features of the way the animal looks, but the feeling of love that the person has for that animal. This is why commissioning a custom portrait is a unique way to celebrate your pet's life whether past or present!
